Build a Hawaiian-Inspired Meal at Lei’d Poke
March 1, 2018The restaurateurs behind popular local eateries like Chasin’ Tails and Roll Play have branched out into some new territory at Lei’d Poke, a restaurant that just made its debut in Vienna a few weeks ago. Instead of the Asian fare served at the sister establishments, Lei’d Poke showcases a traditional Hawaiian dish, the poke bowl.
Customers are invited to build their own poke bowls, starting with the base. Choose a size (regular or large) and then fill the bottom of your bowl with brown or white sushi rice, salad mix, matcha edamame rice, green tea soba noodles, or tortilla chips. Next, select a sauce and protein. The spicy Red Volcano sauce pairs well with shrimp, and the Sweet Maui Onion goes perfectly with salmon. If you want to stick to culinary tradition, try the Classic Shoyu sauce with tuna. Then load on toppings such as toasted sesame seeds, mango and pineapple, or cucumber salad. And finally, it’s time to dig in.
