Gluten-Free Treats Don’t Taste Gluten-Free at The Happy Tart
Discovering that you're sensitive to gluten is difficult for anyone, but for Emma Cech, the news was especially devastating. After all, she was smack dab in the middle of her training to become a pastry chef, a vocation that revolves around gluten-laden treats. But instead of letting the diagnosis drag her down, Chef Emma decided to reclaim pastries for all of her fellow gluten-intolerant people. She opened The Happy Tart, a completely gluten-free bakery in Falls Church.
Those who've enjoyed her sweets say that Emma and her staff do an excellent job of creating gluten-free treats that don't taste gluten-free. Come to the bakery to try them for yourself. Order a few French macarons to savor as an afternoon treat or let Emma's team whip up a dozen cupcakes for a special occasion. She also crafts loaves of GF bread, crepes, and, of course, sweet fruit tarts.
