Holiday Farmers Market
Saturday, December 19th 8AM – 12PM | 300 Park Ave, Falls Church, VA
Holiday events certainly don’t come any closer than this. Located just 3 minutes walking from West Broad, the annual Holiday Farmers Market in Falls Church isn’t an event to be missed. Here you can find trees, wreaths, and gifts alongside some of Northern Virginia’s best produce and meat vendors. On top of all of that, they also have a Farmers Market Chef Series which features a different fantastic local chef every week, so make sure to bring your appetite as well.
Watch Night
Thursday, December 31st 7PM until Late | 101 W. Broad Street, Falls Church, VA
Literally just down the street from West Broad is the biggest night out in “The Little City” of Falls Church. Ring in the New Year in style at Watch Night with this family-oriented party that features live musical entertainment and performances for all ages. Of course, there will be a countdown to midnight with the lowering of the historic Falls Church star which first dropped in 1948 (the year Falls Church became an independent city). Best of all, the entire event is free!

Holiday Sing Along at CityCenterDC

Even if you don’t go to this event, it’s worth taking the trip into DC to see the massive 75 foot tall Christmas tree that’s gracing CityCenterDC that gives the National Tree a run for its money. One look at its beautiful decorations and you’ll be filled with holiday cheer. What could be better? A massive holiday-themed sing along in front of said tree with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington D.C., that’s what.
Christmas at Mount Vernon

Celebrate Christmas at George Washington’s house this year. With dazzling fireworks set to Christmas music, fire-side caroling, 12 huge Christmas trees, and Aladdin the Christmas camel (seriously – a real camel), there is so much to do and see at Christmas at Mount Vernon. Make sure to visit on December 18th & 19th at 5:30PM to watch their Christmas Illuminations, which feature holiday-themed fireworks, a winter camp of Revolutionary War soldiers, tours, refreshments, and even an appearance from “General Washington” himself.
Bull Run Festival of Lights
Now until January 6th | Bull Run Regional Park, 7700 Bull Run Dr, Centreville, VA
The NoVa favorite Bull Run Festival of Lights is worth hopping in the car and driving down to Centreville for. Once you get to Bull Run Regional Park, keep driving through the 2.5 mile holiday light show that features snowmen, candy canes, penguins, tin soldiers, elves, and Santa himself. Once you’ve finished the drive, make sure to visit their Winter Wonderland Holiday Village for their ice skating rink, amusement rides, entertainment, food, shopping, and more. It really is one of the best holiday events in Northern Virginia.
